I am today departing for a nine days trip to Japan. It will be my third trip to the country and I always think winter is the best season to visit Japan. Couple of reasons for that – 1. obviously less tourists resulting in both great airfares and wonderful accommodation at very affordable prices and 2. my love for Hokkaido and how beautiful and dreamy the region looks when fully covered by snow. I purchased my ticket (actually my parents did for my birthday) for around USD 600 for a direct round-trip flight to Tokyo with Turkish Airlines. It is a very good deal as the round trip tickets to Japan with Turkish Airlines is usually around USD 1,100 going up to USD 1,500 during busier seasons. I will spend the first day (Sunday) in Tokyo (you probably know I am not a great fan of Tokyo if you read my earlier post on Japan) as I need to do some electronics shopping and will also try to squeeze in Mori Art Museum – an exciting art museum that I did not have a chance to visit during my earlier trips. On Monday morning, I am taking off for beautiful Hokkaido. I will this time try to report from my trip on a daily basis – so please stay tuned if you are interested in following my journey which will this time cover various different regions in Japan.
